He phoned her that he was hired in a big company. He would be placed in Brisbane to study the use of sun’s heat to warm houses and factories. Baffled with what she was going to do, she met her close friend to ask for her advice. She advised her to be herself, not depending on a man. Helen started her work in mid August. Ben, driver number one and Stan, driver number two were in charge of the bus. She remembered her lessons in university: ‘Don’t show your feelings. Be nice to the tourists. Make them happy.’ She knew it was easy, though.
Helen met people with twelve different characters. Mary liked to buy and write postcards. Angela always made troubles. Eleven people left from London. The other one would join the tour group in France. When they arrived at the Hotel Britania in Paris, a problem emerged. Angela demanded a single room. But there was one that attracted her. It was Vic, the photographer. In Europe they went to see a lot of tourist resorts. In Paris they visited some interesting places. They enjoyed the famous museum Louvre, where the painting of Monalisa was displayed. They also visited Versaillers, the great Palace. Helen was worried because Keren Benton, the one that was supposed to join the group in Switzerland. There they visited Lucerne, Venice and Doge’s Palace. In Lucerne Karen Benton arrived and joined the group. She said her Coloseum, Vatican Museum. Then they continued their journey to Greece. Vic asked Helen to put a package on her case. He said his case did not have enough room for it. He said he would take back in Athens. He would give it to a friend of his as a present. Helen refused to do it. In Greece, they enjoyed a play at the Herod Atticus Theatre, under the Acropolis hill. Vic looked strange. He liked going off alone. The journey then was continued to Istanbul. They visited Topkapi palace and the Bosphoris. Helen noticed that one of the groups, Sarah, went off alone.
Turkey was the last country they visited. She almost fell relieved. Up to now, she could refrained herself. She remembered her lessons in university: ‘Don’t show your feelings. Be nice to tourists. Make them happy,’ The group flew back to London. Helen saw them off at the airport. At the airport something happened. Vic was caught with a stolen passport. As he was interrogated by the customs officer, three policemen came. Due to their criminal act, they were put in jail in Turkey for many years. Helen was surprised when Angela, the difficult woman, came to her at the airport and said, ‘Thank you for great holiday, Helen. You are a wonderful woman.’ She felt wonderful. She liked her job better.
She had two days in Turkey for a rest. In the hotel, she received two letters. One was from Tom and the other was from Global Tours. In his letter, Tom offered her to find a job in Brisbane. He also said he loved her very much. The Global Tours offered her another job in Kenya. She had been expected to go to Kenya for a long time. I hid in the tall grass when the steamboat came near the island. I could see Tom Sawyer. Tom’s Aunt Polly, the Window Douglas, Judge Thatcher, even Pap was there. Everybody was talking about me. They all thought I was dead. They shot the big gun again. BOOM! That one was really loud. It made my ears ring, but I didn’t move from the tall grass. After a while, the boat went away.
On the fourth day, when I was looking around, I steeped on a fire. It was still smoking. I didn’t wait to see who made it. I just ran. I ran all the way back to my canoe. Australian trees have very dry wood, and Aboriginals can make fire in the old way. The bush boy sat by the flat rock. He put some very small pieces of wood on the rock. Then he took a long piece of wood between his hands. He put the end of this into the small pieces, and moved it round and round very fast. And very quickly, there was a good fire.
‘That’s clever!’ said Peter. He put some more wood on the fire. The boy took the wallaby, and cooked it slowly on the fire. An hour later, they sat down near the fire and ate it
Now they were tired. The bush boy put some water on the fire. Then the three children slept.
Mary woke up first. There was a question on her head. Why was the bush boy alone in the desert? Where was his family?
Peter and the bush boy played in the water. Mary sat up and saw the two boys.
Then the bush boy pulled the strange plant of the ground. The bottom of the plant, under the ground was green, and there was also a pretty flower! The bush boy was happy. It was good food. The two children ran into the desert and looked for other food.
Mary waited alone. Half an hour later, she heard the boys. The boys had twenty or thirty the peculiar plants in their arms. But now, Peter was naked too! ‘Peter, where are your clothes?’ ‘Oh Mary! Stop being Big Sister! Do this! Do that! Peter wasn’t happy, but he went to Mary. He looked at her. ‘OK.’ He said. I’ll wear the trousers, but not the shirt.’
After the food, they felt good. Peter put his hands on his stomach. It was very big now, and he started to laugh. The bush boy laughed, and put his hands on his stomach too. Then he stood up, and started to do an Aboriginal dance. He danced round and round the fire.
For the bush boy, and for his tribe, there was a life plan. You were born, and then you walked with your tribe. After that, you walked alone, on your walkabout. Then you were  a man, and you lived with a woman. And after that, you died. It never changed. That was life. Now the bush boy walked alone. He was on his walkabout. He had to live in the desert alone for six months. He had to find food and water. He had to kill animals, and find fruit on the trees. Every day was dangerous for him. After his walkabout, he was a man.
The bush boy thought about the two children. They didn’t know the desert and they couldn’t find food without him. ‘They’ll die.’ He thought.
Then he had an idea. He had to take the children to the rivers-under the mountains. That was the end of his walkabout, and a good place for them. There was water, and food. There were white people not far from there too.

The following text is for questions 33 to 35.
Avian influenza is an infection caused by avian (bird) influenza (flu) viruses. These influenza viruses occur naturally among birds. Wild birds worldwide carry the viruses in their intestines, but usually do not get sick from them. However, avian influenza is very contagious among birds and can make some domesticated birds, including chickens, ducks, and turkeys, very sick and kill them.
Infected birds shed influenza virus in their saliva, nasal secretions, and feces. Susceptible birds become infected when they have contact with contaminated secretions or excretions or with surfaces that are contaminated with secretions or excretions from infected birds. Domesticated birds may become infected with avian influenza virus through direct contact with infected waterfowl or other infected poultry, or through contact with surfaces (such as dirt or cages) or materials (such as water or feed) that have been contaminated with the virus.
Infection with avian influenza viruses in domestic poultry causes two main forms of disease that are distinguished by low and high extremes of virulence. The low pathogenic form may go undetected and usually causes only mild symptoms (such as ruffled feathers and a drop in egg production). However, the highly pathogenic form spreads more rapidly through flocks of poultry. This form may cause disease that affects multiple internal organs and has a mortality rate that can reach 90-100% often within 48 hours.

School uniform is special clothes worn by all students of a particular school. The uniforms of the school may differ from others. Are school uniforms important? Below are some reasons about their importance.
First of all, Notre Dame’s Department of Sociology produced a study in 1998 concerning school uniforms. Their findings using 10th grade students showed that uniforms have no direct effect on substance abuse, behavioral problems, or attendance.
Secondly, uniforms help to crease a strong sense school ethos and sense of belonging to a particular community as such uniforms promote discipline and help to drive up academic standards.
Finally, uniforms act as a social leveler under which all students are equal in the eyes of the school and of each other. In institution without uniforms, students are often competitive and worry endlessly about their appearance and the clothes they should wear. Students without expensive designer clothes and trainers may be singled out as social outcasts or considered as being from poor background.
